Experience

Mr. Sarata focuses his practice on Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights and Business Litigation. On the creditors’ rights side, he represents a broad range of debtors and creditors in out-of-court workouts, Chapter 11 business reorganizations and Chapter 7 liquidations in the federal bankruptcy courts. As a commercial and business litigator, he regularly handles cases before the federal and state trial courts of Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Prior to joining LTB, Mr. Sarata worked for what is now Wilmer Hale LLP in Washington, D.C. and was a civil litigator with McKinley & Irvin, PLLC in Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Sarata is a 2006 recipient of the Harry L. Carrico Pro Bono Award from Legal Services of Northern Virginia
